The Making Of A Film Idol The Making Of A Film Idol

UK DVD RELEASE DATE 30th May 2007

The first DVD release by Independent film Company Falcon Film Productions PLC

About the film:

In 2003 an entrepreneur, Patrick Barber approached a self styled film producer, Clinton Montague and created the largest talent search the UK Film Industry has ever seen, they called it; Film Idol.

The ambitious search was to find and cast 86 unknowns and 2000 extras to star in a British Gangster film based on the No1 best selling book The Guv'nor the biography of East End hard man Lenny Mclean, the rights to this had been optioned by Clinton.

The project would also act as the launch pad for an online casting database www.findmestar.com, the brainchild of Patrick, which would be used to register the acting wannabes. At the end of the tour, those chosen would be invited to auditions at Equinox night club in London's famous Leicester Square, the home of British movie premieres.

Was this the boldest gamble the Film Industry had ever seen?
